Conducted an architectural survey and Section 106 consultation for a Safe Routes to School project. The project area included Winchell Avenue from Oakland Drive to Rambling Road. ARC assessed the project area, conducted photographic inventory, and made recommendations to the Michigan Department of Transportation. 

 Conducted an architectural survey and Section 106 consultation for water system improvements project. The project area included 240 residential and commercial properties within the Village of Capac. ARC assessed the project area, conducted photographic inventory, and made recommendations to the State of Michigan. 

Surveyed and researched over 30 sites throughout the State of Michigan for a Section 106 review. Documented and analyzed the potential impact of a proposed project on any current or potential historic resources within the area of potential effect (APE).Our Supply Chain Consulting services help Athena Research Consultants LLC improve their supply chain processes and optimize their logistics. Reviewed the historical significance of the site and completed an accessibility assessment to identify items not currently compliant with ADA standards as related to historic structures. We made recommendations on accessibility options that will meet the township’s requirement for a permanent occupancy permit. 

Conducted an architectural survey of 9851 Hamilton Ave., Detroit, Michigan, for the National Register of Historic Places Preliminary Questionnaire application – the first step in determining if the property is eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places. ARC assessed the project area, conducted photographic inventory, researched the history of the site, completed an architectural inventory form, and wrote the historical narrative for the questionnaire. 

Researched and submitted a National Register of Historic Places application, which successfully listed the site on the national register. ARC also submitted a state historical marker application, which successfully listed the site on the state register and provided the client with a state historical marker on their property. 

Assisted an architectural firm with a reconnaissance and intensive level survey, applying National Register of Historic Places criteria, to identify all historic buildings and sites from Eight Mile Road north to Quarton (16 Mile Road) along Woodward Avenue in Oakland County. 

Researched and prepared a home built in 1897 for a State of Michigan Register of Historic Places application, which successfully listed the property on the state register and provided the client with a state historical marker on their property.  

Researched and prepared a HABS report on the Battle Creek, Michigan, Hospital No. 100 facility. 

Researched and prepared a HAER report on the East Lansing, Michigan, facility. 

Researched, wrote, and planned an outdoor exhibit space to highlight the history of the Haven estate and sanitarium that once stood on the Grosse Pines HOA property. 

Examined and evaluated the condition of individual and groups of historical items held at four sites. We assessed the environment (i.e., temperance, humidity control, public access, storage, etc.), along with the storage room, the display and exhibit spaces at all four sites. ARC wrote a report of our findings and recommendations for the treatment of historical items in need of repair, care, and conservation; the removal and proper storage of fragile and/or unstable historical items; and improvements to the environment, storage facilities, and exhibit space at the four sites. 

Researched the courthouse history, which was instrumental in discovering pertinent information regarding the actual materials used on the original building, placement of county departments within the original structure, and mechanical and electrical systems originally installed. 

Assisted an architectural firm with the historic investigation of the NRHP facility in Rochester, Michigan.
